Rug / Floor Mat- Loom/Handmade
Premium-quality commodities for international markets.
Our Loom‑Made & Handmade Rugs and Floor Mats celebrate the artistry of traditional weaving. Skilled artisans hand‑weave each rug on manual looms using natural fibres such as jute and cotton, resulting in one‑of‑a‑kind floor coverings. Hand weaving gives every rug subtle variations in colour and texture that machine‑made pieces cannot replicate. Jute fibres lend strength and rustic charm, while cotton threads add softness and breathability. Because they are crafted from renewable plant materials, these mats are biodegradable and environmentally friendly.
Materials & Customisation
- Jute – A bast fibre harvested from the jute plant, jute is sustainable, durable and biodegradable. Jute rugs can be woven with small or chunky braids, adding depth and richness. Reversible construction allows the rug to be flipped for longer life.
- Cotton – Soft, breathable and lightweight, cotton rugs are easy to care for and can often be machine‑washed. Cotton is less durable than jute, so these rugs are ideal for bedrooms or low‑traffic areas, and they should be used with a natural rubber rug pad to prevent slipping. Choose organically grown cotton to avoid pesticides and toxic dyes.
- Kans grass, seagrass or wool (optional) – For custom orders, we can blend jute with other natural fibres to achieve different textures or colours. Seagrass offers additional durability and moisture resistance, while wool adds plushness.
Customisation options include bespoke sizes, shapes (rectangular, round, oval or runner), braided or flat‑weave constructions, and dyed or undyed finishes. Our team can also incorporate patterns or logos upon request.
Features & benefits
- 1. Artisanal craftsmanship – Each rug is carefully hand‑woven by experienced artisans, making every piece unique. The hand‑weaving process produces subtle variations and a tactile feel that highlight the quality and tradition of the craft.
- 2. Natural & sustainable – Jute fibres are sustainable, durable and biodegradable, and cotton is breathable and renewable. Both materials are free from synthetic dyes and chemical treatments, so the rugs emit low VOCs and are hypoallergenic
- Durable yet comfortable – Hand‑woven jute rugs have naturally strong, hard‑wearing fibres, making them suitable for high‑traffic areas such as entryways or living rooms. Cotton adds a soft, comfortable under‑foot feel and helps regulate humidity.
- Earthy texture & organic warmth – The combination of jute’s earthy texture and cotton’s subtle sheen brings organic warmth to any space. Hand‑woven jute rugs introduce a beautiful, neutral base that pairs well with modern, coastal, boho and rustic décor.
- Versatile & layered styling – Natural, neutral tones make these rugs incredibly versatile; they look elegant on their own or as a foundation for layering accent rugs. Jute’s relaxed appearance works with wood floors, while cotton adds a casual, handcrafted feel.
- Affordable luxury – Compared to other natural fibres, jute has a lower price point without sacrificing quality or visual appeal. Hand weaving adds value and uniqueness without a large premium, allowing you to enjoy luxury craftsmanship at an accessible price.
- Healthy indoor environment – The absence of synthetic fibres and toxic treatments makes hand‑woven jute and cotton rugs a safe choice for families with allergies, children and pets.
Production Capacity & Lead Time
Because each rug is woven by hand, production requires more time and skill than machine sewing. Our artisans can produce up to 25 000 hand‑loomed rugs/floor mats in a 60–90‑day production cycle. Lead times depend on size and complexity; sampling and approval processes are built into the schedule to ensure satisfaction.
Quality Assurance
- Ethical sourcing – We select high‑quality jute and cotton from ethical suppliers. Wherever possible, we source organic cotton and support fair‑trade jute production.
- Skilled workmanship – Artisans weave each rug on traditional looms, ensuring tight, even weaves and secure edges. Handmade rugs have natural variations that demonstrate authenticity; we embrace these variations as part of the product’s charm.
- Multi‑stage inspection – Every rug undergoes inspection for weave consistency, size accuracy, edge finishing and overall quality. We only ship rugs that meet our standards for durability and appearance.
- Customer feedback loop – We encourage customers to share feedback after delivery, enabling continuous improvement.
